The Story of Capital Culture
Capital Culture was founded by Matthew Oliver, an African American entrepreneur born with Severe Hemophilia A—a rare and life-threatening bleeding disorder. Severe Hemophilia A means that even the slightest injury can lead to uncontrollable internal bleeding, sometimes causing life-threatening complications like brain hemorrhages, joint damage, and extreme swelling in the limbs. Growing up, Matthew didn’t just live with this condition—he fought through it.
Despite the risks, Matthew was naturally athletic and had a deep love for track and field. But no matter how much he trained, his body struggled to keep up. Something as small as a slight bump or landing wrong on his foot could trigger an internal bleed, causing his joints to swell and heal improperly. Eventually, doctors told him to quit competitive sports. His passion had been ripped away, and for a while, he felt lost.
But then, he found Hip-Hop.
At just 15 years old, Matthew was introduced to music production software and instantly became obsessed with the process of creating beats. Hip-Hop became his escape—a constant presence that kept him company through his most painful moments. When spontaneous bleeding episodes left him bedridden, Hip-Hop was there. When doctors told him “no”, Hip-Hop said “find another way”. Over the years, he refined his craft, working with local artists and immersing himself in the culture.
Hip-Hop saved him.
What Capital Culture Stands For
Matthew has watched Hip-Hop evolve over the decades—especially its connection to wealth, self-education, and community empowerment. The culture has always been about taking what you have, learning on your own, and building something great from nothing.
That’s Capital Culture.
It's about learning how to build wealth, how to buy back your block, how to uplift your community instead of being a burden to it. It’s about breaking generational curses, giving back, and guiding the next generation toward greatness. Every day, we see self-taught millionaires on Instagram and TikTok—sharing knowledge, selling courses, teaching others how to level up. That’s not just entrepreneurship. That’s culture.
Capital Culture is a brand that represents that movement.
Matthew designed the Capital Culture emblem with purpose—
No flashy distractions.
Just strength, quality, and meaning.
It’s a shield.
A symbol of resilience, of standing tall despite the odds.
A representation of the struggles we endure and the power we build from them.
For Matthew, Hip-Hop has always been his shield—his way of pushing through pain, doubt, and limitations. Capital Culture is his way of giving back.
A Brand That Gives Back
Unlike many brands that only take, Capital Culture is committed to giving. Sweepstakes and giveaways will be a regular part of this brand’s journey—not just as promotions, but as a core value. Matthew knows what it’s like to struggle without handouts, and he’s built Capital Culture to make sure opportunities get into the right hands—fairly, professionally, and without shortcuts.
Because true wealth isn’t just about making money—it’s about giving it back.
This is Capital Culture.
A movement, a shield, and a legacy.
All beats on this site were made by the founder.
